Before your customers can fill in your forms, you'll need to add fields for them to fill in first. The registration form has a default set of fields which are necessary in order for it to create new students. The confirmation form has a default set that can be removed/reordered as needed.
Custom and consent fields can be added to any form. If you haven't created any custom fields yet, see How to create custom fields first.
You might also want to configure the settings on the form you are setting up:
In this example I will be editing the registration form, but the same process applies no matter the form you are working on. See the relevant article from the list above to find out how to get to the form building page for your form.
Watch this video or continue to the full article below for more detail:
Add, remove and reorder fields
On the left you'll see Available fields grouped into Custom and Consent fields (some standard fields are available on other forms - they are on the registration form by default). On the right you'll see the fields currently assigned to the form. Drag a field from the Available fields panel onto the form on the right to add it.
Click on the X on any field on the form to remove it.
βReorder fields by dragging them up or down.
βClick Save changes.
Make fields required
Once a field is assigned to the form, a Required toggle appears beneath to it.
Flip the toggle on for any field you want customers to complete before they can submit.
βClick Save changes.
β
Required fields will display an asterisk (*) on the public form, and the form won't submit until they're filled in.
Beware of making fields like medical notes required - it's not recommended to make medical information required. Similarly, making a tick box required will force someone to accept it. If you want to ensure you get an answer to a question without forcing a student to opt-in, a dropdown field with Yes/No answers is often the better approach.
