How to delete or disable a single lesson in a class

Remove one lesson from a class, or mark it as not taking place.

Written by Nathan

To delete a single lesson from a class, open the lesson on the class page, select the arrow next to Manage students and choose Delete lesson. If you only want to show that no class takes place on a date, disable the lesson instead.

For: team members with Full, Finance or Staff access.

Good to know

  • membermeister uses your account's own configured terminology, so you may see different words for Class, Lesson and Students.

  • Deleting a lesson cannot be undone. It permanently removes the lesson's students, trials and attendance history.

  • Team members with Teacher access don't see these options.

Delete a lesson

  1. Go to the Classes overview and select the class name.

  2. Select the lesson you want to remove on the timeline.

  3. Select the down-arrow next to Manage students.

  4. Select Delete lesson.

  5. Select Delete this lesson to confirm.

The rest of the class is not affected.

Note: If the lesson has active trials, you can't delete it. Reschedule or cancel the trials first, then delete the lesson.

Disable a lesson instead

Disabling a lesson keeps its date on the timeline but marks it as not taking place. It is left out when you invoice, so students on per-lesson pricing aren't charged for it. You can enable it again later.

  1. Open the lesson from the timeline.

  2. Select the arrow next to Manage students.

  3. Select Disable lesson.

To turn it back on, open the lesson and select Enable lesson. A disabled lesson only shows this button, so enable it before you delete it.

Deleting the only remaining lesson

If a class has only one lesson, deleting it deletes the whole class, and you can't disable the last lesson.
