If parents who join part-way through a term are charged the full term price when booking, the class is almost certainly priced as a flat fee for the whole term. Change the class price to a price per lesson, and membermeister will charge only for the lessons that are left.
For: Team members with admin/full access.
Good to know
Membermeister uses your account's own configured terminology, so you may see different words for Classes, Terms, Lessons and Sessions.
A flat fee is charged in full however many lessons are left. A price per lesson is multiplied by the number of lessons the customer books, so it scales down for late joiners.
The same applies to families who continue after a trial: they are invited to book the rest of the term, and a flat-fee class still shows the full term price.
A class that is set up for a flat term price cannot be configured for Pay-as-you-go pricing for bookings. That is because the customer would be charged the full term price if they book all the remaining lessons in a pay-as-you-go setup, even if there is only one lesson left in the term. This would lead to unexpected overcharges.
Step 1: Work out the price per lesson
Divide the term price by the number of lessons in the term. For example, a flat fee of £117.50 for 10 lessons is £11.75 per lesson.
Enter as many decimal places as you need, for example six, so that the full term still adds up to the original price without a 1p difference.
Step 2: Change the class price
Go to the Classes overview and open the class.
Select Edit class at the top of the page.
In Price, enter the price per lesson.
2. Change per from class/term to lesson/session.
3. Select Save.
Repeat this for each class that is priced as a flat fee.
Step 3: Check the result
Open your booking page and start a booking for a lesson-priced class after the term has begun. The price shown should cover only the lessons that remain.
In the example below, the system has taken the per-lesson price of £11.75 and multiplied it by six lessons, to come up with a price of £70.50.
Invoicing the class locks the pricing schema
Once a class has been invoiced, per is locked and you will see the message "The 'price per' cannot be changed because it has already been invoiced."
Contact our support team and they can change it for you.
