Here is a video walkthrough showing the entire process, with a written guide below.
The process of linking an existing account or creating and linking a brand new Stripe account are very similar. Some steps may seem familiar from when you created your Stripe account but are still necessary to complete.
Step 1: Access Account Settings
Click on your name in the top-right corner of membermeister.
Select Account Settings.
Scroll down to the Credit Card Payments section and click Enable Stripe Payments.
4. Confirm by selecting Connect to Stripe.
Step 2: Link or Create a Stripe Account
You’ll be redirected to Stripe’s website. Enter your email address:
Existing Stripe users: Use your Stripe account email.
New Stripe users: Follow the steps to create a new account.
Tip: Enable two-step authentication for added security.
Step 3: Enter Business Details
Provide basic business information (e.g., VAT number, business industry, and website).
Input your bank account details for pay-outs.
Optionally, add a business descriptor for receipts.
Skip optional services like Stripe Tax for now. You can update these settings later from your Stripe dashboard.
Step 4: Complete the Process
After reviewing your details, click Submit.
You’ll be redirected back to membermeister with a message confirming that Stripe has been successfully linked.
Step 5: Verify the Connection
Refresh the page and scroll down to confirm that Stripe is connected.
If not linked immediately, wait a few seconds and refresh again.
Step 6: Accept Payments
If you have created a new Stripe account, you will shortly be contacted by Stripe to verify your account details. You may be asked to provide some of the following documents:
-A copy of the bank statement linked to the Stripe account
-Driving License
-Passport
These details remain confidential between you and Stripe, and while we may be notified if there are any issues with the verification process so we can assist you, we will never be told specific information. You'll know when you account is fully verified as you will see the account status as successful, like in the image above.
Once linked and fully verified, you can take payments for invoices and enable the online booking feature. Customers will be able to pay by credit and debit card, as well as Apple and Google Pay.
