How to change the day, time or date of a class

Move one lesson, or every lesson in a class, to a new day, date or time.

Written by Stefan Richter

To change the day, time or date of a class, open the class, choose a lesson and select Edit schedule in the Manage students menu. You can change every lesson in the class at once, just one lesson, or one lesson and all the lessons after it.

For: team members with Full, Finance or Staff access. Teacher access can't change a class schedule.

Good to know

  • You won't find the day or time under the class's main settings. Lesson dates and times are changed with Edit schedule, from the class page.

  • Membermeister uses your account's own configured terminology for lessons and students, so the buttons may say something like Manage members or Edit this session instead.

Step 1: Open the class

Go to your list of classes and select the class you want to change. This opens the class page, with a row of lesson dates across the top.

Step 2: Select the first lesson you want to change

Select a date in the row of lesson dates. If you want to change the whole class, or a lesson and every lesson after it, choose the first lesson that should change.

Step 3: Open Edit schedule

  1. Select the small arrow to the right of the Manage students button.

  2. Choose Edit schedule.

  • Lesson time - the new start and end time.

Step 6: Save your changes

Select Save changes. You'll see a message saying the lesson details have been updated.

How to change the day a class runs

When you change the date and apply it to more than one lesson, the other lessons move by the same number of days. For example, to move a Monday class to Tuesdays, select the first Monday lesson, change its date to the Tuesday after it, and choose All lessons in this class. Every lesson then moves forward one day, so the class runs on Tuesdays.

Any trial bookings on those lessons move with them.

Removing a lesson instead

If a lesson was entered on the wrong day and you want to remove it rather than move it, delete it. To keep the date but show that no class takes place, disable it. Both are explained in How to delete or disable a single lesson in a class.

Tips

  • Let families know. The same menu has a Message option, which sends a message to everyone in the lesson.

  • Want to keep the date but cancel it? Use Disable this lesson in the same menu instead of deleting it, see Disabling dates throughout a class or term.
